The Commissionerate Police conducted a raid on a rave party at a private resort located at Mendhasala in Chandaka area and arrested two persons in connection with the case, late on Friday night.

The arrested persons have been identified as owner of Happy Moment resort Siba Prasad Patnaik and manager Rahul Mallick.

Acting on a tip off, two special squads of Chandaka Police raided the resort where the party was organised and seized over 20 litre beer and other contraband items.

According to sources, the party was attended by 40-50 young men and women and resort does not have a bar licence.

“We recieved an information about the rave party organised at Happy Moment resort. The party was attended by around 40-50 men and women. When we raided the place, we found the people in inebriated condition,” informed Assistant Commissioner of Police Manoj Bisoi said.

“The attendees paid a certain amount to participate in the party and they were served with food and drinks, revealed resort manager during questioning,” Bisoi added.

We have seized 40 cans of beer. A case has been registered with Chandaka police station in this regard, police said adding that, as the resort does not have a bar licence, so the owner and manager have been arrested. 

Meanwhile, Bhubaneswar Deputy Commission of Police Prateek Singh said stringent action will be initiated against the resort for organising rave party sans permission.

“We will write to Excise department authorities and administration to seal the resort,” Singh said.
