Police on Saturday arrested a person for his alleged involvement in the mysterious Sambalpur triple murder case in which the decomposed bodies of a woman and her two children were recovered.

The accused has been identified as Md Mudasir Khan.

On May 13, police recovered three decomposed bodies from a house at Sunapali area under Dhanupali Police limits of Sambalpur. The deceased were identified as Sazia Parwin, her eight-year-old son Abdul Rehman and six-year-old daughter Humera Tayiba. Sazia’s husband had predeceased her two years ago.

From the initial investigation, police came to know that a dispute between Khan and Sazia led to a fall out between them and that resulted in the triple murder.

Police believed the arrest of Khan would help them solve the mystery of the sensational triple murder.

Notably, locals on May 13 morning observed a foul smell emanating from the house where the family was residing. They immediately passed the information to the police. On being informed, a team from Dhanupali Police Station reached the spot and broke open the door in the presence of the magistrate and family members. The ghastly scene of three decomposed bodies lying in the house had left all shocked.
