A youth from Odisha has allegedly lost Rs 4.5 lakh rupees to cyber fraud in Chhattisgarh recently. 

According to sources, Rakesh Swain, a resident from Bilapokhariapada in Kujang area of Jagatsinghpur has leveled allegations of inaction against Chhattisgarh Police despite several pleas.

Swain who has been working hard in Chhattisgarh for the last five months to save money for the marriage of his sister alleged that once suddenly on August 15, he received a message asking him to update his PAN .

But much to his astonishment, Swain who followed the steps to fill up the requirements as suggested in the mobile message witnessed that around Rs 4.48 lakh rupees has been withdrawn from his bank account in three installments.

Soon after the incident, Swain said he had been approaching the Cyber Police in Chhatisgarh to get his money back and punishment for the accused but his pleas have fallen in deaf ears.

Fed over his pathetic situation, Swain has released a video narrating his ordeal and sought help from Odisha Police in this regard.
