Police on Wednesday recovered the bodies of a woman and her two minor daughters inside their house at Fatak Pada under Ganganagar area in Brajrajnagar Town of Jharsuguda district.

The deceased woman has been identified as Soni Poddar (28) while one of the two girls is five-year-old, the other one is three-year-old.

The husband of the woman, Narayan Poddar who is a daily wage labourer has reportedly gone missing after the incident. They are natives of Chhattisgarh and were living in a rented house at Fatak Pada.

As per reports, neighbours spotted the three dead bodies from a window of the house in the morning and informed the local police.

Police rushed to the spot and seized the bodies. A scientific team will conduct a detailed investigation following which the bodies will be sent for post-mortem.

Police have started questioning their relatives and neighbours regarding the incident. Soni’s father, who rushed to the spot after receiving the news, informed the police that the husband-wife duo was not in good terms over some family dispute.

Jharsuguda SP, who also rushed to the spot for investigation, said that post-mortem reports will ascertain the exact cause of the death and further details of the incident will be known after a proper probe.
