Odisha woman orchestrates own child’s kidnap, detained with lover

The Jeypore police on Saturday detained a woman and her lover for orchestrating the kidnap of her own child. 

According to reports, Parameshwar Khemundi, his wife Sukanti Das and their three-month-old baby boy were living in a rented accommodation at Madala Sahi under Jeypore Town police limits of Koraput. 

On September 3, Sukanti informed her husband, who was away in Bolangir, that their son had been kidnapped. Without losing any moment, Parameshwar reached his house and had a quarrel with Sukanti for being as careless as leading to the kidnap of their child. He then lodged a complaint at the Town Police Station.

Acting on the complaint, the police enquired with Parameshwar and Sukanti. After getting some vital inputs from the couple, a police team left for Bhubaneswar and rescued the child from the Khandagiri area. 

What the investigation revealed left all baffled. Sukanti along with her lover had orchestrated the kidnap plan. 

A detailed investigation is underway.
