The Special Task Force (STF) of Odisha Crime Branch on Wednesday seized property worth Rs 25 Lakh belonging to the most wanted ganja mafia Anil Pandi.

The property includes a MUV and an SUV, Police sources said.

Pertinent to mention here that the STF had earlier confiscated property worth Rs 2 crore belonging to Pandi. This raid and seizure was in continuation of the same case registered under the NDPS act against Pandi.

The STF issued a press release in this connection in which it informed, “In continuation to financial investigation in STF P.S. Case No 29/2021, further properties worth of Rs 25 Lakh (Two vehicles one Mahindra Bolero Plus and another Mahindra XUV 500 R FWD), owned by Anil Kumar Pandi, S/o Brundaban Pandi of Vill.-Chhachina, P.S-Kodala, Dist-Ganjam from illegal contraband Ganja business have been identified and seized.”

The STF has requested the Competent Authority and Administrator of NDPS Act, Kolkata, who is a quasi-judicial authority under NDPS Act for forfeiture of the illegally acquired property.

Contraband Ganja around 10 Quintals, one truck and other incriminating materials were seized on 13 August 2021 by the STF.

It is worthwhile to mention that Anil Pandi is one of the most wanted drug traffickers with involvement in 11 NDPS cases in Gujarat.

Earlier his brother Sunil Pandi was arrested by Gujarat police. Anil Pandi is absconding evading police arrest.
