Odisha shocker! Man thrashed, wife gang-raped in Dhenkanal; cops detain 2 suspects

In a shocking incident, a man was brutally thrashed while his wife was allegedly gang raped in Odisha’s Dhenkanal district. The incident has been reported from Bhuban area. The couple hails from Kaliapani area in Jajpur district.

The victim was staying in a mess and pursuing education in Bhuban area. As per initial reports, some miscreants intercepted the couple near Baruna area when they were going to their home on a motorcycle.

The miscreants attacked the man and took his wife to a forest nearby and allegedly took turns to rape her. Following the incident, the medical examination of the victim has been conducted.

Senior police officials said that two suspects allegedly involved in the heinous crime have been detained while efforts are on to nab three other accused.

Dhenkanal SP, Gyanaranjan Mohapatra said, “Based on the complaint filed by the victim, we have detained two accused. We have identified the vehicle and three other accused. We are waiting for the medical examination reports. We will nab all the accused involved in the case soon.”
