A team of Odisha Police’s Special Task Force (STF) nabbed a drug peddler from near Haladia College under Khordha Town Police limits on Wednesday and seized 310 grams of brown sugar from him.

As per reports, the arrest and recovery was made following a raid by a joint team of STF and Khordha Police at a hideout.

The accused has been identified as Rajkishore Sundray alias Gutu. He is the son of Rabindra Routray, a resident of Tangisahi under Gurujanga Police Station in Khordha.

Following the bust, a case (23/ 2022 U/s 21(c)/29 of NDPS Act 1985) has been registered at the Khordha Police Station against the accused. Further investigations are on.

Informing about the recovery, a STF press statement stated, “A raid was conducted by team of STF, BBSR on January 12, 2022 with the help Khodha Police in front of Haladia College, Khorda under Khordhas Town PS against illegal transportation/possession of Narcotic Drugs.”

“The team apprehended one accused namely Rajkishore Sundray, aka Gutu, son of Rabindara Routray of Tangisahi, Gurujanga PS. Khordha Town in Khordha district. During search Brown Sugar weighing 310 gm and other incriminating materials were recovered and seized from his possession,” the STF stated.

As per the STRF, Sundray is a habitual offender and he was earlier booked in a similar case by the Khordha police. He was recently released by a court on bail.

Since 2020, the STF in special drives against narcotic trade, has seized more than 44 kg brown sugar/heroin and more than 87 quintals of ganja /marijuna and arrested more than 121 drug dealers/peddlers.
