Odisha Ministers Pratap Jena, Dibya Mishra's Involvement Alleged In Cameraman Manas Murder

Wife of deceased cameraman Manas Swain on Tuesday made some explosive statements alleging involvement of Odisha Ministers Pratap Jena and Dibya Shankar Mishra in the murder of her husband.

She further alleged that some of big shots and other ministers are also involved in the murder of her husband. Manas had the memory chip containing some illegal activities of the ministers and the prime accused Sharmistha and therefore, they hatched a plan to eliminate him fearing that their truth will come out.

Demanding immediate arrest of all the accused, Manas' wife also threatened to kill herself in front of the residence of Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik if justice is not served to her.

It is believed that Manas had some memory chip/card containing clips of porn videos suspected to have been shot by him in the direction of Sharmistha Rout, the absconding owner of the web channel where Manas used to work who is suspected to have played a key role in the murder. 

Later, responding to the allegations of the victim's wife, Minister Mishra said, "BJD is an organised party. We work in a disciplined manner within the confines of law... BJD will definitely abide by the law.

Meanwhile, Chandbali Additional SP today informed that the call detail analysis of Retired OIS officer Niranjan Sethi, who was arrested on Monday for his alleged involvement in the elimination of the Nayagarh cameraman, revealed that he used to telephone Sarmistha 20-30 times a day after Manas went missing. 

The police officer further said that Manas was in Ashram for around 3 hours on the day he was abducted. Importantly, inmates said that Niranjan Sethi used to frequently visit the Ashram, he added.
