Bhubaneswar cyber police on Monday arrested a man on charge of making his wife’s nude photographs viral on social media platforms, police said on Tuesday. 

Police have identified the arrested person as Saroj Kumar Das. 

According to police, Saroj worked as a plumber in Bhadrak and his wife worked as a domestic help in Mancheswar area in Bhubaneswar to support her husband in running the family. As he was a habitual drinker, Saroj used to spend all his earning on alcohol and take money from his wife. 

However, Saroj’s wife had stopped giving money to him for last few days for which the couple often entered into arguments. In the recent past, Saroj, in a fit of rage, had uploaded the photographs of their intimate moments on social media platforms. 

After coming to know about this, the victim lodged a complaint, acting on which Bhubaneswar cyber police launched a probe and arrested Saroj from a location in Chandbali of Bhadrak district. Subsequently, he was produced in a court and remanded to judicial custody. 

While further probe into the matter is underway, the incident has been a point of discussion in the locality.
