Odisha Gynaecologist In Vigilance Net For 'Taking Bribe' To Conduct Ceasarian

The Odisha Vigilance on Wednesday apprehended Sukant Kumar Jena, Gynaecologist in Charichak Medical Community Health Centre (CHC) in Puri for allegedly demanding and accepting bribes during the course of operation of an expectant mother.

As per the complainant, Jena had demanded Rs 5000 before conducting ceasarian operation on his cousin. Later, he again demanded and accepted Rs 3000 after conducting the operation. 

As per reports, the Vigilance sleuths recovered and seized the entire money from Jena which he had accepted as bribe. 

Moreover, the sleuths have launched a search operation on his properties at Kalarahanga area in Bhubaneswar. 

Meanwhile, a case has been registered at Vigilance Police Station in this connection and further investigation is underway.
