The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of the Odisha Crime Branch has arrested another accused who was part of a major racket and involved in duping job aspirants through Gramin Rojgar Kalyan Sansthan (GRKS). The accused has been identified as Jairam Tiwari, a native of Nayangaon village in Bihar.

Tiwari is the main associate of Dharmapal Singh, who is the mastermind of the job fraud racket. Singh was earlier arrested and produced before the court recently.

Senior EOW officials informed that Tiwari had received and misappropriated Rs 35,83,000 from the account of GRKS. Tiwari was also the co-producer of a film produced by the prime accused Dharmapal Singh from the amount received through the fake advertisements in the name of GRKS.

The mastermind of the racket had earlier developed a website resembling a Government website displaying job advertisements. Applications were invited for various jobs like District and block coordinator, computer operator, block surveyor and other posts.

Meanwhile, the EOW has issued an advisory for job aspirants.

Job seekers while coming across such advertisements for jobs should verify the authenticity of the advertisement at least from the concerned department of the Government.

They can also verify the details of the agency floating such advertisements with regard to its status, functioning and limitations.

The used logo/website in the advertisement should be cross-checked with authentic sources. If they suspect any such advertisement for job, they should bring it to the notice of the nearest Law Enforcement Agency.
