Odisha doctor arrested for polygamy

 A doctor was arrested by a team of Bhubaneswar Mahila police station on Saturday on the charges of polygamy. The accused Asish Pattnaik was arrested on the basis of a complaint filed by a woman who claims to be the doctor's third wife.

The complainant alleged that Pattnaik is already married to two other women and accused him of cheating.

“I got married to the doctor a couple of months back. It was only recently that I found him already married to two other women. Subsequently, I lodged a complaint with the Mahila police station,” said the complainant.

She further alleged that the doctor has a polygamous tendency. “I suffered a lot for which I filed the police complaint against the doctor,” the complainant alleged.

Adisha Mohanty, advocate of the complainant said, “The doctor married my client through an affidavit without divorcing his second wife. The accused has two children from his first two wives. My client came to know about the cheating after two months of her marriage.”
