Odisha Bhadrak Missing Case: Skeletal Remains Of A Youth Recovered In Dhamnagar

The skeletal remains of an unidentified youth were found hanging in an abandoned backyard of a house in Dehudi village under Dhamnagar Police limits in Bhadrak on Wednesday.

While the Police is suspecting it to be the body of one Khageswar Nayak, who went missing on December 19, 2021, from the village after incurring heavy loss in an online game, only DNA profiling can shed light on the identity of the body recovered.

However, without waiting for the DNA report, family members of the deceased youth confirmed the recovered body as their son.

“The belongings like T-shirt and shoes of Khageswar were seen on the spot. For which, we believe it as his dead body.” a relative Harihar Pagal said to OTV.

“Fearing severe reprimand from his father post losing huge amount in online gaming, it seems he had lost his mental balance. And I suspect he has committed suicide by hanging from a tree,” the relative added.

As per the Dhamanagar IIC, Sriballav Sahu, “Khageswar Nayak has been missing since December last year. The body, which was recovered today has been identified as Khageswar Nayak by his relatives.”

“It seems he has committed suicide. But the investigation is on from all angles and everything will become clear after the completion of the probe,” the IIC added.
