Odia album actress Ruchismita found dead in Bolangir, suicide suspected

A young album actress was found dead under mysterious circumstances in a house at Sudapada in Bolangir district on Sunday night. 

While the deceased actress, identified as Ruchismita Guru, was a native of Talapalipada in Bolangir town, was staying at her maternal uncle’s house in Sudapada. She acted in a number of albums. She was also known as a singer who performed at several stage shows. 

On Sunday night, she was found hanging from the ceiling fan of her room. 

On being informed, a team from Bolangir town police station reached the spot, recovered the body and sent it to Bhima Bhoi Medical College and Hospital for post-mortem. 

Meanwhile, the deceased’s mother said that they had a quarrel over the preparation of ‘aloo paratha’.

“I had asked her to cook ‘aloo paratha’ at 8 pm, but she said she would prepare it at 10 pm. Over this, we had a quarrel. Earlier on several occasions, she had attempted suicide as well,” said the deceased’s mother. 

However, the police have launched a probe to find out whether it is a case of suicide or something else. The cops believe the post-mortem report would help them solve the case.
