Naba Das murder case: Brother meets accused Gopal Das in Choudwar jail 

Brother of Naba Das murder case accused Gopal Das met him in Choudwar jail on Wednesday. This was for the first time that a family member met Gopal after his arrest. 

After some mandatory procedures, Gopal’s brother Satyanarayan Das was allowed to meet. It is learnt that they met in the presence of security personnel. They were allowed to talk for some time. 

As per sources, it was an emotional moment when both met each other. 

Following his arrest, Gopal was lodged at Jharsuguda sub-jail. However, he was later shifted to Choudwar jail after Gopal requested for transfer. 

DG Prisons, Manoj Kumar Chhabra, had then confirmed that Gopal himself had sought the transfer and made the request before the court. He was transferred to Choudwar jail after the Jharsuguda JMFC Court granted permission. 

At Choudwar jail, Gopal has been put under tight security and round the clock CCTV surveillance, informed sources.

Since the case is sub judice at Jharsuguda court, Gopal is appearing hearings through video conference from the Choudwar jail.
