Following a day after some pieces of handwritten paper were recovered from the septic tank at the Jharsuguda Airport Police Station, Naba Das murder case accused, Gopal Das identified the paper as his own handwritten one.

However, it will be further sent to the handwriting bureau for authentication.

As per reports, a Crime Branch team carried out search of the septic tank and recovered 22 pieces of papers/chits following the lead given by accused Gopal Das during interrogation about throwing handwritten paper in the toilet of Airport Police Station, Jharsuguda.

Assistance of the handwriting experts will be taken to re-arrange those recovered torn pieces of paper, the police said.

Meanwhile, a diary has been recovered from the official quarters of accused Gopal Das by the Crime Branch.

A police statement read, “A search was conducted in the locked official quarters of the accused at Oriental Colony and office room at Gandhi Chowk in presence of magistrate and witnesses. During the search, some handwritten and printed documents and diaries have been seized.”

The documents recovered from the official quarter of the accused are being scrutinized by a team of CID-CB.

Verification of medical treatment records and financial behaviour of accused ASI Gopal Krishna Das, his house search at Berhampur is being continued by a team led by DSP, CID CB, said the police statement.
