‘Most-wanted’ Ganja smuggler from Odisha nabbed by NCB Mumbai
The Mumbai unit of the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) arrested most-wanted ganja mafia Nilu Pradhan from Beguniapada village in Ganjam late on Saturday night.
Pradhan, who hails from Ganjam, was on the most-wanted list of the NCB for his alleged link in ganja smuggling to Mumbai and Gujarat.
Acting on a tip-off, the NCB team with the help of Beguniapada police conducted raids on Beguniapada village and arrested Pradhan.
He was later taken on a transit remand for further investigation, sources informed.
“Nilu Pradhan was on the wanted list of the NCB. He was arrested by the NCB teams from Mumbai and Bhubaneswar with the help of Beguniapada police yesterday. He is accused of illegal ganja smuggling,” said Ranjit Kumar Prusty, Additional Superintendent of Police, Ganjam.
“Though Pradhan has no warrant against him under our police station, NCB had it,” Prusty informed.
