The list of cheating cases involving 'matric fail doctor' Bidhu Prakash Swain alias Ramesh Swain is piling up with each passing day. The imposter who has been arrested for allegedly marrying and duping as many as 17 women has now landed in fresh trouble.

A new case has been lodged at the Bharatpur police station on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar wherein Swain has been accused of cheating 3 people including two women of lakhs of rupees on the pretext of providing them with government jobs.

As per sources, the accused, Swain, had allegedly duped the two women with assurances that he would help them in getting employment as staff nurses at the AIIMS. Another man, named Sanjay Das, who has also reportedly been cheated by the accused was promised the job of transport manager at IFFCO.

Meanwhile, a special team led by the Bhubaneswar Additional DCP have taken Swain on remand to elicit more details on his crime syndicate.

Police sources said the accused will be taken to his Kendrapara residence following interrogation for field investigation into the series of forgery cases against him.

Speaking on the case, one of the victims, Sanjay Das, said that the Swain won his confidence by showing a visiting card of Deputy Director, Health.

"At first, he assured to get me and others jobs in various posts free of cost. But after one month, he said that due to some changes in the recruitment policy of the Central government, we needed to pay security money and fees towards the Director and Nursing in charge. So I paid him a total of over Rs 12 lakh," said Das.
