Missing CRPF jawan found dead in Bolangir; family members suspect foul play

In a tragic and mysterious turn of events, the hanging body of a CRPF jawan was recovered near Ghasian village under Larambha police limits in Odisha’s Bolangir district on Sunday. 

The deceased, Ganeshram Bhoi, was reportedly missing since Friday, and his body was discovered in a hanging state early this morning, sending shockwaves across the locality. It was a group of villagers who first spotted the body of the CRPF jawan hanging from a tree at an isolated place.

According to police sources, the CRPF jawan had returned to his native village a few days ago on leave. However, his sudden disappearance, followed by the recovery of his lifeless body, has raised many questions regarding the circumstances leading to his death.

As of now, the exact cause of death remains unclear. A police team has reached the spot and started an investigation to ascertain whether it is a case of suicide or if foul play is involved. 

The family members suspect something fishy regarding the presence of some footmarks near the body, suggesting murder. The members informed that the deceased jawan had left his mobile phone at home on Friday and was untraceable since then.

Things are likely to get clear as the police investigation progresses. The assistance of the forensic team from Bolangir has been sought to assist the police in further investigation. A clear picture is also likely to emerge after a post-mortem examination.
