Unidentified miscreants looted Rs 12 lakh after firing at a petrol pump employee in front of an Indian Bank branch in Odisha's Balasore district. The incident involved six bike-borne attackers and occurred under the Khaira Police limits.

Unidentified miscreants on Tuesday allegedly looted Rs 12 lakh after firing at an employee of a petrol pump at Soro in Balasore district. The incident took place in front of the Indian Bank branch located at Bartana under Khaira Police limits.

As per initial reports, six bike-borne miscreants were involved in the loot of cash. As per reports, two employees of the petrol pump had come to deposit the cash in the bank when the miscreants intercepted them and looted the money.

“I don’t know how many people were exactly there, but four had caught hold of me. We had come to deposit the cash in the bank. The miscreants fired three rounds at me, one was aimed at my leg and another at my chest,” said the injured petrol pump staff.

Following the incident, senior police officials visited the bank and started an investigation into the incident.
