Man surrenders after stabbing to death younger brother with screwdriver in Kalahandi

Familial relations in society have undergone a sea change with the passage of time due to multiple and unexplained reasons. Time and again, we have heard of several crimes involving own family members, either for property or any other reason.

In one such incident, a man allegedly killed his own younger brother by stabbing him with a screwdriver in Odisha. The incident has been reported from Bahadurbagichapada area under Town police limits in Kalahandi district.

The deceased has been identified as Ganesh Bag. As per initial reports, Ganesh was allegedly stabbed to death by his brother Mahesh Bag over some family feud on Sunday night. Ganesh sustained critical injuries after he was stabbed multiple times in his chest and stomach by his elder brother Mahesh.

Following the incident, Ganesh was rushed to the district headquarters hospital by his family members. However, he succumbed to injuries while undergoing treatment at the hospital, sources said.

After hearing about his brother’s death, the accused Mahesh surrendered at the police station. Meanwhile, further investigation in connection with the incident is underway.
