Man’s body charred after ‘murder’ over extramarital affair in Nayagarh

A man identified as Sailendra Jena has been allegedly murdered over an extramarital affair with a woman in Nayagarh district. As per initial reports, deceased Sailendra Jena was murdered by Sunita Sahu her husband Dipu Sahu and Dipus’s close aide Surya Sahu. Deceased Sailendra Jena hailed from Cuttack’s Mahantipada area.

Reportedly, Sunita Sahu, Dipu Sahu his father and Surya planned the murder of Sailendra Jena. Prime accused Dipu Sahu, a dahibara seller by profession has opened up in front of police during the crime scene recreation.

Dipu Sahu along with his family returned to Nayagarh after learning about the extra marital affair between his wife Sunita and Sailendra. Even after moving to Nayagarh Sailendra was continued visiting their native place to meet Sunita.

As per reports, after finding about their relationship accused Dipu plotted the murder. On the 3rd of December Sunita invited Sailendra to their residence in Mahipur where Sailendra was murdered by Dipu his father and one of his absconding friends. Later, they torched the body in a drain and threw away the body remains in the nearby pond.

As of now, the police have arrested the couple in this regard and other accused are absconding.

Nayagarh SP Alekha Chandra Pahi has said “Sunita Sahu her husband Dipu Sahu his partner Surya Sahu and Dipu’s father all planned the murder of Sailendra Jena and after committing the murder they torched the dead body nearby and threw away the body remains in a local pond.

We have detained Sunita Sahu and Surya Sahu and the other two are absconding. We have deployed a team in crime scene and we will be investigating the other places according to their confessions. If at all we find any sort of body remains we will seize them.

The love relationship developed between Shailendra and Sunita while they were staying in Cuttack while her husband was selling Dahibara. Since the past two years the family moved to Nayagarh. Even after moving to Nayagarh Sailendra used to frequently visit Sunita. On the 3rd of December Sailendra visited Sunita’s residence and after a verbal spat they allegedly murdered him.”
