Man missing from Bhubaneswar found dead in Niali; family alleges murder

A man, who went missing from Bhubaneswar recently, has been found dead in Niali area. The deceased has been identified as Nabaghana Patasani alias Banka.

As per initial reports, Banka had left home in Baramunda area in his vehicle on July 17. As he did not return the same day, his family members went to Khandagiri and Bharatpur police stations and lodged a missing complaint. Later some people had intercepted Banka’s vehicle which someone else was driving. It was found that Banka had taken some money by mortgaging the vehicle.

On July 20, Banka’s dead body was found near Urad area under Govindpur police limits in Niali. The concerned police station had conducted the post-mortem by registering an unnatural death case as the body could not be identified. The body had injury marks on the head and neck region, sources said.

The family members later identified the body to be that of Banka from a copper ring. They have alleged that he has been murdered over some monetary transaction.
