Man kills mother for refusing money to buy drugs in Talcher

A drug addict allegedly killed his mother following a quarrel at Ghantapada village under Colliery police limits in Angul district.

Julei Biswal (62) succumbed to injuries, allegedly inflicted in the attack by her son Manoj Biswal, at a local hospital. 

As per sources, a quarrel ensued between Manoj and his mother on Friday night after the latter refused to give him money to buy drugs. 

In a fit of rage, Manoj attacked his mother with a sharp weapon. Though she was rushed to the local hospital, she passed away. 

Officials from Colliery police station visited the village and initiated a probe into the case. The accused has been detained while the body of the woman was sent to a hospital for post-mortem.

Yesterday, a similar incident rocked Upar Barada village in Keonjhar district. A minor boy allegedly hacked his widow mother to death with an axe after she refused to give him money to buy clothes.
