Man axes wife to death in Odisha’s Bolangir

Panic gripped Bramhapura village in Patnagarh of Bolangir district on Friday after a man was spotted moving with an axe soon after allegedly killing his wife. The accused has been identified as Krushna Bag.

As per initial reports, Krushna allegedly hacked his wife Anjana to death with an axe when the latter had gone to take a bath in a river near the village. The exact reason why Krushna killed his wife has not been ascertained yet.

“I don’t know what happened for which my father killed my mother. I was working at a place in the village when I learned about the incident,” said the deceased’s son Gaurab.

Following the incident, villagers reportedly saw the accused Krushna moving around the village with an axe. Upon getting information, police officials reached the sport and started an investigation. Efforts were also underway to nab the accused who is reportedly absconding.
