In a major development, the main accused behind the Khandagiri murderous attack case, which occurred right in front of the Khandagiri police station in Bhubaneswar wherein a man was chased and attacked with a sharp weapon in full public view, has been arrested.

The attack was a reported fallout of past enmity.

The accused has been identified as Sashanka Baliarsingh.

Khandagiri police seized the weapon used in the crime from Sashanka’s possession. Later, he was produced in court. While Sashanka’s other associates are still at large, the police have launched a manhunt to nab the absconding miscreants.

Notably, on May 18 morning, Banka, a resident of Baramunda area, was at a tea stall located near Khandagiri square. Sashanka and his associates reached the tea stall and before anyone could understand anything, they started attacking him. He started running to save his life. But they too chased him and attacked him. Later some people gathered courage and came to his rescue and rushed him to a private hospital.

On the basis of the victim’s complaint, Khandagiri police had registered a case and launched a probe. During the investigation, the cops found Sashanka’s involvement in the case and subsequently, he was apprehended.
