Mahanga police on Friday took the main accused in the Mahanga quintuple murder case Siba Prasada Sahu to his ancestral home in Kusupur village and his rented house in Nanpur village to recreate the crime scene and elicit more information on the brutal killings.
Amid tight security in presence of SDPO and Mahanga police station IIC, the crime scene recreation was conducted.
Reportedly, the murder weapon used by Siba Sahu was seized during crime scene recreation. Police also seized Siba's phone during the process.
Meanwhile, Siba's employer and representative of Kusupur Sarpanch said that on Tuesday Siba had called him to his rented house. Following this, the representative along with a Zilla Parishad member had visited his house where Siba admitted to the killing of his elder brother and his family.
"I was shell-shocked when he revealed that he has killed 5 persons," said the Representative of Kusupur Sarpanch.
Earlier, Salepur JMFC Court had allowed the Mahanga police to take Sahu on a three-day remand.
Notably, Siba Sahu had allegedly killed five members of his elder brother’s family over a property dispute in Kusupur village under Mahanga police station in Cuttack district on Tuesday.
The deceased were identified as Alekh Sahu, his wife, their two sons and a daughter.
Later, he had surrendered at Balichandrapur police station in Jajpur district after recording a confession video which he sent to a couple of people in the village.
