The post-mortem report of five members of a family who were killed in Kusupur village under Mahanga block in Cuttack district revealed that the deceased had sustained multiple injuries from sharp-edged weapons on various parts of their bodies.

As per the post-mortem examination, the multiple injury spots suggested that the victims were attacked with sharp-edged weapons. The findings of the report also suggested that all the victims had resisted the fatal attacks with the best of their abilities.

There were speculations that the deceased were poisoned before being killed. However, citing the post-mortem report sources in Cuttack rural police claimed that the victims were not poisoned.

It is worth mentioning that, Siba Sahu had allegedly killed five members of his elder brother’s family over a property dispute in Kusupur village under Mahanga police station in Cuttack district on Tuesday.

The deceased were identified as Alekh Sahu, his wife, their two sons, and a daughter.

Later, Siba surrendered at Balichandrapur police station in Jajpur district after recording a confession video which he sent to a couple of people in the village.

Mahanga police on Friday had taken the main accused Siba to his ancestral home in Kusupur village and his rented house in Nanpur village to recreate the crime scene and elicit more information on the brutal killings.
