Love-sex-dhoka! Bhubaneswar youth ‘dupes’ girlfriend on pretext of marriage, ‘circulates intimate videos’

In a shocking incident, a girl was allegedly duped by her boyfriend on the pretext of marriage in Bhubaneswar.

The incident came to light after the victim lodged a complaint in this regard at the Mahila Police Station in the state capital on Thursday.

According to sources, the victim became friends with the accused, identified as Laxmidhar Barik aka Sahil of Unit 6 area in Bhubaneswar, on Facebook and eventually love blossomed between them.

The accused allegedly kept a physical relationship with the victim on the pretext of marriage. He even allegedly filmed the intimate moments and made them viral on various social media platforms.

“I and Sahil became friends on Facebook and later exchanged our numbers after chatting on Messengers for several days. Later, he proposed to me,” the victim said.

“He had called me to his house to meet his parents and discuss about our marriage several times. When one day I went to his house, his parents were not there. He asked me to wait and offered me snacks and a cold drink. Soon after having the cold drink, I felt uneasy. Taking advantage of the situation, he forcibly kept a physical relationship with me,” she alleged.

The victim said, “He even filmed the intimate moment without my knowledge. Later, he threatened to make the video viral on social media. When I blocked him, he circulated the video among my friends. Even he sent the video to my father. When I requested him to delete the videos, he even threatened me with an acid attack.”

I have lodged a complaint at Mahila police station in this regard and I am hopeful that I will get justice, she said.
