Lady Revenue Inspector 'Attacked' With Sharp Weapon Inside Office In Odisha

A lady Revenue Inspector (RI) was allegedly attacked with sharp weapon inside her office at Anandapur in Odisha's Keonjhar district on Monday. 

As per reports, one Gobinda Jena of Bankhidi village allegedly attacked Seema Simantini Sahoo, the Anandapur RI, while she was busy in some work inside her office.

The RI, who reportedly sustained serious injuries in the attack, was rushed to Anandapur hospital by her colleagues. Her condition is stated to be critical.

Meanwhile, police have detained the accused Gobinda Jena for interrogation.

The accused has alleged that the concerned RI had vindictively transferred some portion of his land in favour of some people in the village.

Later, Anandapur sub-collector Gopinath Kuanr visited the hospital and termed the incident as unfortunate. "I strongly condemn the attack. Stern action will be taken against the culprit," said Kuanr.
