The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Thursday intensified its action in the lady blackmailer Archana Nag case and picked up Khageswar Patra, an associate of Archana’s husband Jagabandhu Chand.

The agency took Patra from his native village Gangeswar and is learnt to have been quizzing Patra at the ED office. The agency has seized Patra’s mobile phone and bank documents. Apart from these, Archana’s Mahindra Thar vehicle has also been seized.

Earlier in the day, the officials conducted raids at six places linked to lady blackmailer Archana Nag. They included Archan’s parental residence, her Satya Vihar residence in Bhubaneswar and her mother-in-law’s house at Jaleswar.

Notably, Archana Nag and her husband are cooling their heels in Jharpara jail. Kingpin Archana was arrested on October 7 on charges of honey-trapping bigwigs and extorting money from them. Her bail plea was rejected by the Sub-divisional Judicial Magistrate (SDJM) court in Bhubaneswar on October 17. Her husband Chand was arrested on October 21. He was picked up from his Satya Vihar residence in Bhubaneswar.

He was arrested on the basis of a complaint lodged at Khandagiri police station by a female victim on October 2. She mentioned in her complaint that it was Jagabandhu and his aide Khageswar Patra who trapped her. She also mentioned it that Archana, Jagabandhu and Khageswar earned crores of rupees by using her.
