Koraput woman who killed her 3-year-old son was intoxicated

A woman who killed her three-year-old son at Lukumari village under Dasmantpur block of Koraput district was reportedly in an inebriated state when she committed the crime.

Phulmati Muduli allegedly beheaded her son with a sharp-edged weapon. The brutal killing had sent shockwaves among the residents of the locality.

The accused has been arrested. 

As per reports, the incident occurred during the Chaiti Parva on Wednesday night. On the occasion, a feast was organised in the village. Phulmati and her husband Ganga Muduli returned home along with their son after having the feast.

When Ganga was asleep, Phulmati allegedly slit the throat of their youngest child. 

Ganga could not hear the screams of his son and learnt about the murder in the morning. He then informed the villagers and the police.

The police recovered the body and launched an investigation into the case.
