Khordha IT officer caught red-handed by CBI while accepting bribe

An Income Tax officer posted in Khordha, identified as Suman Sundar Sahoo, was arrested by the CBI for accepting a bribe of Rs 5 lakh from a jeweller on Saturday. He was caught red-handed while accepting the bribe. 

A close relative of the jeweller alleged that IT officer Sahoo demanded Rs 40 lakh to hush up and settle the tax issues. 

"He demanded Rs 40 lakh to settle the issue. Earlier, we had given him Rs 5 lakh at his residence. He didn't even allow me to enter his house. Now, CBI DSP caught him red-handed while accepting the bribe," said the relative.

Sahoo was brought to the CBI office in Bhubaneswar for further interrogation after he was arrested.
