Kalahandi police arrests 8 interstate robbers; over Rs 3 crore cash, firearms seized

In a significant breakthrough, Kalahandi Police have successfully apprehended an interstate gang involved in a major heist. The arrests were made by officers from the Dharamgarh Police Station, who have taken custody of eight persons. 

The accused were allegedly involved in several robbery and dacoity incidents. Police have seized cash amounting to Rs 3.51 crore from their possession along with several weapons and other articles. All the arrested criminals hail from Jharkhand. 

Earlier, unidentified miscreants had looted cash from a local countrymade liquor unit at Dharmagarh area on January 30. In the dead of night, approximately eight dacoits, armed with deadly weapons entered the premises and committed the crime after threatening the staff with firearms and weapons

The suspects attempted to flee the scene in an SUV bearing a Jharkhand registration number. The vehicle was subsequently intercepted and two accused were initially nabbed.
