The accused has been identified as Byasadev Rana, a resident of Narla in the Kalahandi district. He was detained after allegedly duping a person from Pipili lodged a police complaint regarding the fraud.

Police arrest fake section officer from Lok Seva Bhawan

The Commissionerate Police have arrested a person from Lok Seva Bhawan in Bhubaneswar on the charges of duping a person to the tune of Rs 20 lakh on the pretext of providing a government job.

The accused has been identified as Byasadev Rana, a resident of Narla in the Kalahandi district. He was detained after allegedly duping a person from Pipili lodged a police complaint regarding the fraud.

During investigation, it emerged that Rana had been entering the Lok Seva Bhawan premises for several years by using a fraudulent identification card, purportedly from the Panchayati Raj Department.

Officials noted that such deception underlines the need for rigorous verification processes at government offices.

Following his apprehension within Lok Seva Bhawan premises, Rana has been taken into custody for necessary legal proceedings.

Importantly, people should remain vigilant about fraudulent employment schemes and report any suspicious activities to avoid getting into traps of such fraudsters.
