Jawan, Soil Conservator Officer found hanging in separate incidents in Odisha
The people in Odisha on Friday woke up to the tragic deaths of a jawan and a Soil Conservator Officer (SCO) in two separate incidents reported from Bhubaneswar, and Jajpur district respectively.
In Bhubaneswar, the body of Sepoy Duryadhan Mohanty was found hanging inside the 7th Battalion campus today. As per initial reports, the 2002 batch Sepoy’s body was found hanging from a tree. Maitrivihar police station has registered an unnatural death case and started an investigation into the matter. Things are likely to get clear only after the post-mortem.
Similarly, the body of a Soil Conservator Officer (SCO) Suresh Mallick was found hanging from a tree on the premises of the deputy director of soil conservation's office in Jajpur district.
Mallick was in-charge officer for Bari block. The exact reason why Mallick resorted to such an extreme is unclear. Town Police has seized the body and started an investigation into the matter.
