The Bengaluru Police, with the help of the Twin City Commissionerate Police, busted an inter-state fake job racket and arrested three youths, including two Odisha residents, on Saturday.

The trio had had allegedly swindled over Rs 20 lakhs from more than 60 job seekers in Bengaluru and Odisha, police said.

Two of the three arrested persons have been identified as natives of Odisha while the third youth hails from Pune in Maharashtra. The trio was working in a software company in Bengaluru.

The Bengaluru Police said the three were wanted since 2018 after their role surfaced. They had allegedly duped lakhs of rupees from unsuspecting aspirants promising them with lucrative jobs in software companies and government sector.

During investigation, the Bengaluru Police learnt the three youths were holed up in Bhubaneswar. Subsequently, a special team of the Bengaluru Police contacted the Chandrasekharpur Police Station and nabbed the trio today.

The arrested accused will be produced in the court and taken to Bengaluru on transit remand, added police.
