Instagram friend calls girl on pretext job; drugs and gang-rapes her

In a heart-wrenching incident, a woman was allegedly drugged and gang-raped by her Instagram friend and his associate. The accused duo gave her a cold drink laced with sedatives at a hotel in Uttar Pradesh and later gangraped her.

The shocking incident has been reported from Shamli district. The matter came to the fore after the victim, a resident of Meerut, lodged a complaint with the police. 

As per the complaint, the girl was befriended by a man on Instagram who claimed to be working in a bank. He manipulated her on the promise of getting her a job at the bank. 

With the help of his associate, the accused managed to take her to Thanabhavan in Shamli district. Later, the two took her to a hotel where they gave her a cold drink laced with sedatives and then gangraped her.

As per NDTV reports, the police have registered a case based on the victim’s complaint and have initiated an investigation in this regard. The accused duo are on the run and yet to be arrested.
