A team of Hyderabad police on Friday arrested five cyber criminals in Bhubaneswar. 

The team with the help of Bharatpur police nabbed the five accused involved in a cyber fraud to the tune of Rs 30 lakh.

The fraudsters have been identified as Aditya Narayan Mohapatra, Laxmidhar Murmu, Pramod Nayak, Soumya Ranjan Patnaik and Debashis Ojha. 

Three of the accused belong to Ghatikia area in the Capital city while two others are residents of Baramunda.

Police have registered a case under sections 19, 420 of IPC and SECTION 66-c of IT act.

The fraudsters allegedly looted Rs 15 lakh from two accounts in a fraudulent manner, police said.

Five mobile phones have been seized from them. Thier call records and transactions are being verified to extract more information, police said.

The five accused will be produced before court today. Hyderabad police will take them on transit remand with permission from court.

The Commissionerate Police on Thursday had arrested two cyber criminals from Cuttack. They had allegedly looted Rs 39 lakhs from people on the pre-text of setting up mobile towers.

Police had also seized over Rs 25 lakh cash, a Fortuner SUV, 15 bank passbooks, SIM card, cheque books, two laptops and four mobile phones from their
