Malkangiri Police on Tuesday arrested two fraudsters on charges of looting valuables from a house after posing as priests and performing Graha Shanti rituals.

As per sources, Sridhar Patnaik, a resident of Jail Line in Malkangiri sought the help of two priests (pujak) to conduct Grah Shanti puja to remove negative effects/doshas of the malefic planets from his house and family.

The two fraudsters reportedly performed the puja in the bedroom of Sridhar's house and asked him to ensure minimal interference in the long ritual. In the meantime, they executed their planned loot during the time.

After concluding the ceremony, the duo allegedly locked the bedroom and warned the house owner not to enter it for four days to prevent the wrath of the malefic planets.

Later however disregarding the warnings Sridhar entered the room but was taken aback to see the almirah inside wrecked.

Afterwards, Sridhar craftily called back the two imposters to his house on some important work and caught the accused before handing them over to the police.
Based on the complaint and preliminary investigations of the loot case, police have arrested the two accused and seized the stolen valuables.

Speaking to OTV, Sridhar said, "I did not care about the Grah Dosh warnings by the two priests and opened the sealed room only to discover that our almirah was broken the contents inside were scattered. Upon close look, we found the gold ornaments, cash, and other valuables were missing from the closet."
