Horror in Bhubaneswar; 8-year-old boy kidnapped at gunpoint, rescued within hours by police

In a dramatic turn of events, an 8-year-old boy, who was allegedly kidnapped in broad daylight from the capital city of Bhubaneswar was successfully rescued by the police within a few hours of the incident. The abduction had sent shockwaves across the city, especially due to the bold and brazen manner in which it was carried out.

According to police reports, the child was kidnapped at gunpoint near Panchagaon under the jurisdiction of the Airfield Police Station. Eyewitnesses stated that the kidnappers forcibly pulled the boy into a black car, threatening him with a firearm aimed at his head, before speeding away from the scene.

“The incident took place at around 10:30 am. As our kid was missing, we had fears in our minds. We have not seen our kid, even though we are hearing that he has been rescued,” said Aunt of the minor boy.

The relative informed that she got information regarding the kidnapping from his parents.

“I had never heard such a thing in my life. The parents are very simple and we could not believe how someone could do this to them. I had faith in the Goddess and she has listened to our prayers,” she added.

How The Incident Occurred?

The abductors allegedly demanded a ransom of Rs 20 lakh from the child’s family shortly after the kidnapping. A police official confirmed that the demand was communicated through a phone call, and this tipped off law enforcement agencies to act swiftly.

Swift Action By Police 

Upon receiving the information, the Commissionerate Police immediately formed three special teams and launched a massive manhunt. Using technical surveillance, local intelligence, and vehicle tracking systems, the police were able to trace the kidnappers’ movements.

Within a few tense hours, the police managed to locate and rescue the child safely from an isolated area near Panchagaon. The kidnappers fled the scene upon realizing police presence, and a manhunt is currently underway to apprehend them.

The quick response and coordinated efforts of the police have been widely praised by the public and the child’s family. The incident, however, has raised serious concerns about child safety and the increasing boldness of criminal elements in urban areas.
