Honeytrap case: Archana not cooperating with ED!

Lady blackmailer Archana Nag, the prime accused in the honeytrap case, is reportedly not cooperating with Enforcement Directorate in the probe. 

Earlier, Archana had said she was waiting for ED and would fully cooperate in the probe before going on a 7-day remand.

However, she seems to have forgotten her words. Else, she could have cooperated with ED during interrogation to bring the truth out. It has exposed the double-standard personality of lady blackmailer. 

Besides, it is being said that Archana is pressurised to keep mum. 

Meanwhile, Archana’s silence has created problems for the ED sleuths to extract the truth from her. ED’s plan to grill other accused involved in the sextortion case has yielded no results. 

It is learnt that Archana Nag’s aide Shradhanjali Behera has failed to depose before ED. Though ED has served notice on Shradhanjali, she did not take it seriously and appear before the ED.

Meanwhile, Khandagiri police handed over all the files and evidence pertaining to the lady blackmailer’s case to the probe agency. 

Earlier ED had sought court’s permission to get all the evidence related to the honeytrap case. Hearing the ED’s plea, the court had asked the police and state forensic lab to provide digital proof to the investigating officials.

Archana’s lawyer Thakur Sangram Singh said, “It is wrong to say that Archana is playing a double game. She is cooperating with the ED sleuths.”

Former Police DG Sanjiv Marik said, “Archana should cooperate with ED. Else, she should not make a such an explosive statement before the media. If she wants to make any statement, she must record her statement with the help of her lawyer."

Notably, the District and Session Court in Bhubaneswar has remanded Archana to the custody of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) for seven days. 

The ED had sought a 15-day remand of Nag to dig deeper into the case. The court while allowing the investigating agency to take Nag on remand has directed it to produce her on December 13.
