Hiring of 'supari killer': Accused woman pleads innocence, accuses husband of having illicit affairs 

In a strange twist to the sensational case of alleged hiring of a contract killer by a woman to eliminate her husband in Bhubaneswar, the woman in question appeared before media and pleaded innocence. 

Talking to OTV exclusively, Silsila Behera vehemently denied the charges of hiring a contract killer to eliminate her husband Binayak Behera and said a woman can never hatch a plan to kill her husband in Hinduism.  

“After sharing 18 years of my life with him, why would I hire supari killer to kill him. If I had any such plan in my mind, why I had not executed that in this 18 years. What was the need for giving supari to a killer,” she questioned.

“It is a concocted story. We had been living separately since 2020. When our relatives insisted my husband to bring me back and my child, he cooked up the story,” she added. 

Asked about Ashok Sahoo, with whom she had an alleged illicit affair, the woman said he was like a brother to her.

“Ashok Sahu has not attacked my husband. He is like a brother to me and I tied him rakhi. My husband had employed him to take care of me and my child during his transfer to Puri,” she said. 

“The main reason behind the false allegations against me and Ashok is that my husband did not want to live with me and my child. Because he has extramarital affairs,” the woman alleged. 

It can be mentioned here that Binayak Behera, who works as a senior section engineer at Mancheswar Railway Workshop, suffered grievous injuries when he was allegedly attacked by two young men on April 16 .

He had lodged a complaint with the Mancheswar police alleging that his wife hired a contract killer named Jitendra Kumar Pradhan to kill him with the help of her paramour Ashok Sahoo.
