He lied & married me, I can't take it anymore: Shilpi Das’ last WhatsApp text

More and more chilling and heart rending details are emerging following the shocking death of Shilpi Das, who allegedly hanged self after killing her 2-year-old stepson in Cuttack.

As per reports, just before her death, Shilpi had sent her sister a message in which she wrote, “I am sorry didi, I love you. Please take care of mummy and papa. He (Santosh Khuntia) married me by lying about his first marriage. He beats me every day, quarrels with me and scolds me. I cannot bear this physical & mental torture, blackmail & the abuse anymore. I have no other option.”

“Please take all my belongings including my almirah, fan, trunk, dressing table and other furniture from my rented room. Please do not let any of my belongings remain in that room with Santosh,” Shilpi wrote in her purported last message.

Shilpi’s body was found hanging at her rented house at Sriram Nagar area under Madhupatna police limits in Cuttack on Monday. The body of a two-year-old boy was also recovered from the same house.

The child was the step son of the deceased woman. It is suspected that Shilpi committed suicide after killing her stepson on Sunday night. The exact reason behind the incident is unclear. However, it is suspected that the incident could be the fallout of some ongoing family feud between the deceased and her husband, Santosh Khuntia.

Shilpi was Khuntia’s second wife.

Khuntia works in a private company in Salepur. The couple had tied the nuptial knot some 12 to 13 months back. Khuntia's first wife had passed away after giving birth to his child.
