Gun threat
The Commissionerate Police arrested a youth on charges of possessing a pistol illegally and threatening his neighbour on Monday.
The arrested youth has been identified as Ramesh Behera alias Babaji, a resident of Dolamandap Sahi under Laxmisagar Police limits. The police also seized the firearm and five live bullets from the possession of Babaji.
As per sources, Ramesh and his neighbour Jogendra Behera would often quarrel over the construction of a wall. On September 5, they had a fresh quarrel when some labourers engaged by Jogendra started to repair the wall. As the verbal duel escalated, Ramesh went into his house and came out with a pistol. He started intimidating Jogendra, pointing the firearm.
On being informed, a team from Laxmisagar Police Station reached the spot, arrested Ramesh, and seized the firearm and bullets from his possession.
