Girl student found hanging in pharmacy college in Berhampur
Mystery shrouds the death of a girl student whose body was found hanging in a hostel on Thursday night. The deceased was studying pharmacy at Roland Institute Of Pharmaceutical Sciences in Berhampur. The second year D.Pharma student was staying at the hostel of the Pharmaceutical college.
The family members ruled out it to be a case of suicide and alleged foul play in the incident. They alleged that the hostel authorities first informed that they came to know about the health condition of the girl student after getting a call from a youth. A youth was earlier threatening the girl. We suspect involvement of the youth and hostel officials behind her death, alleged family members of the deceased student.
"I had spoken with my daughter at 9 pm yesterday. She had returned after her dinner and she said that she would be doing some work. Later, we got a call and the hostel officials informed that her health condition has deteriorated. We were not allowed inside the hostel. Later, we went to police station. There was no pressure on her. We had earlier got a call from a youth and he had threatened to kill her,” said a family member.
Another relative said, “All the belongings are intact. The college authorities informed that a youth had called and informed that the girl’s condition was not proper. Later, the matter came to light. The door was not closed from inside. We suspect some foul play and we demand a detailed investigation into the matter.”
Meanwhile, no comments could be obtained from the college authorities or police officials in connection with the incident.
