A fraud case has been registered at the Kharavela Nagar Police Station against a liaison official and Akash Institute in Bhubaneswar.

A private firm, A6 Entertainment' has alleged that the firm carried out several works related to advertisement and webinars for the promotion of the Akash Institute but the latter has not paid the company since 2020.

As per the allegations, the liaison officer Subham Mohanty used to hire the private firm for endorsing Akash Institute. Though the company was initially paying for the advertisements, no imbursement has been done by Mohanty or the institute for the last several months.

"I have come here to lodge a fraud case of Rs 1.24 crore against Akash Institute and Subham Mohanty. He (Mohanty) used to bring assignments like conducting webinars, animation works and other advertisement works of the institute for us. We were initially paid but now the pending amount is over Rs 1 crore. However, neither Mohanty nor the institute is paying heed to the issue," alleged the complainant, Subash Chandra Dash.

However, A B Singh, the director of Akash Institute in Bhubaneswar, has rebuffed the allegations and said, "We have come to know from the bank that a fake account as 'Akash Educational Services' has been opened. The account has no authorised signatory. I am unable to understand what short of webinars and animation works to the tune of a crore will we do."
