Four persons suffered burn injuries in an acid attack reported from Bangomunda area in Bolangir district on Friday.
The incident stemmed from a family feud over fowl theft, police said.
In this connection, police arrested a man and his son for their alleged involvement in the crime. The accused father-son duo has been identified as Tulasi Sahu and Nepal Sahu, residents of Sahu Pada under Bangomunda Police limits.
According to police, Tulasi had a hen that went missing last night. Suspecting his neighbour’s role in the matter, Tulasi picked up a quarrel with his neighbour Khaga Sahu.
Today morning, the altercation took an ugly turn and Tulasi and his son Nepal Sahu, in a fit of rage, hurled acid at Khaga and his family members.
Besides Khaga, Jagabandhu Sahu, Subash Sahu, and Sanju Sahu were injured in the attack. The injured persons were immediately rescued and rushed to Bhima Bhoi Medical College and Hospital, Bolangir.
On being informed, a team from Bangomunda Police Station reached the village and arrested Tulasi and his son Nepal.
