Four bike-borne unidentified miscreants allegedly attacked a petrol pump staff with sharp weapons and decamped with Rs 2 lakh at Lamloi Square in Sundargarh’s Rajgangpur on Thursday. 

The seriously injured petrol pump staffer, identified as Anil Tiwari, has reportedly been admitted to Rourkela Government Hospital (RGH). 
According to a source, Anil Tiwari, a staffer of the petrol pump located at Padajamapali by the side of National Highway 10, was going to the bank riding a bike to deposit Rs 2 lakh, the collection of the previous night.

As he was nearing Lamloi Square, four miscreants riding two bikes, all wearing helmets, waylaid Anil and attacked him with knives before speeding away from the spot with the cash bag. 

Seriously injured Anil was first rushed to Rajgangpur Community Health Centre (CHC) and later he was shifted to RGH.

Meanwhile, the police have launched a probe. Besides analysing the CCTV footage, they interrogated the petrol pump employees to know if anyone of them had briefed the miscreants about Anil going to the bank with cash.
